Then, two years later when Brexit happened, people wondered where their tolerant country had gone, lamenting the ephemeral spirit of London 2012 as though the 2011 riots were some kind of fever dream, not a desperate response to decades of structural and institutional racism exacerbated by the cruelty of unnecessary austerity. The truth is that if security is quickly upended, it was built on quicksand to begin with.

An elderly woman cleans a piano she cannot play and a car she cannot drive every day. The woman, Chun-hee (played by Kim Hye-ok), moves into a small apartment on her own after her husband dies. Cleaning her late husband’s piano and car seems to be Chun-hee’s way of mourning, as well as a kind of ritual that reminds her she is still alive.
What appears to be a pointless daily chore leads to unexpected connections. When she meets Min-jun (Justin H. Min), a conductor who has come to Germany in search of his birth mother, and Seong-chan (Park Dae-ho), a teenage boy who dreams of becoming a pianist, a gentle new rhythm enters Chun-hee’s quiet life.
The film “A Flowing Journey,” which was released Wednesday, follows people with seemingly nothing in common as they meet by chance and gradually find their way into one another’s lives. It portrays their individual stories and struggles without exaggeration, focusing instead on ordinary moments spent sharing meals and asking after one another.
The lyrical piano melodies that run throughout the film create subtle ripples, adding depth

An exhibition exploring the intricate designs and techniques behind Korea’s mother-of-pearl lacquerware has drawn more than 16,000 visitors during a two-year international tour across the United States, Canada and Japan, introducing audiences abroad to a traditional craft shaped by generations of artisans. The Seoul Museum of Craft Art said Wednesday that its special exhibition, “The Design Room of Najeon Masters,” concluded its overseas run Saturday after stops in Los Angeles, Ottawa, Tokyo and Osaka in 2025 and 2026. The exhibition attracted 7,556 visitors in North America and 8,427 in Japan, according to the museum, with more than 90 percent of respondents to visitor satisfaction surveys describing it as an opportunity to discover the beauty and depth of Korean traditional crafts.
The exhibition examines "najeonchilgi," the Korean art of decorating lacquerware with thin pieces of iridescent mother-of-pearl, through designs, tools and finished works by six modern and contemporary masters: Jeon Seong-gyu, Kim Bong-ryong, Song Ju-an, Sim Bu-gil, Min Jong-tae and Kim Tae-hee. It was a pitch that got away. Kia Tigers starter James Naile was cruising along against the Samsung Lions in their opening game of a Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason series Monday night. Naile had allowed just one single through four innings at Daegu Samsung Lions Park in the southeastern city of Daegu.
But then with one out in the bottom of the fifth, Naile hit Park Seung-kyu in the head with a fastball. Under KBO rules, it resulted in an automatic ejection. Park stayed in the game and scored the Lions' first run, but the Tigers went on to take the game by 5-1.
Speaking with Yonhap News Agency a day after the incident, Naile called the hit-by-pitch "pretty unfortunate." "I am very glad that Seung-kyu is OK. I certainly never wanted to hit him, certainly don't want to hit anybody in the head," Naile said prior to Game 2 of this series.
"But other than that, I felt like I pitched really, really well. I wish my day didn't end like that because I think it would have been a pretty special game. "I was a little bit embarrassed and mad at myself, but in my whole career, that is the f
